Mission Statement

The Campbell County Chamber of Commerce promotes the growth of commerce, serves as business advocate, fosters the development of new leaders, and provides programs and services related to the critical needs of its membership.

Membership Programs

The Chamber is the voice of business and professionals in the region and serves as a bridge to link business, organizations and residents together with innovative programs that strengthen the region’s long-term economic vitality, business success, job creation and quality of life.

These initiatives provide advocacy, influence and marketing opportunities for members. You can get involved or you can let the Chamber’s staff and volunteers make things happen for your business.

The Chamber coordinates and hosts more than 80 events and programs per year. These functions help you to connect with key business leaders and potential customers in our community. This exchange of connections means more people know about your business.

Chamber Resources and Programs

Advocacy is a major component in the Chamber’s role as a business organization. The Chamber serves as a forum where business leaders from various backgrounds and industries can come together and work on real solutions for the challenges that face businesses and the broader community they serve.

The Chamber works with Spring Hill Press to produce and distribute local maps. A large, folded, full-color map, printed on high-gloss paper, provides information for Gillette and all of Campbell County.  The map is also available online.

The Chamber serves as ambassadors for visitors and those interested in relocating to the area.  The annual Chamber magazine serves as the premier information guide on living and doing business in the region. 

 

Members are welcome to use the Chamber’s conference room for small to medium size meetings. The room holds 15-20 guests and offers flexibility for various needs.

From resources on sales tax figures and population demographics to specific information on regulations like Exempt Overtime Rules, the Chamber has a broad range of information to help businesses make informed decisions.

Saving money is an essential part of business success.  Knowing this, the Chamber offers a Member to Member Discount Program which allows Chamber members to offer discounts on a product or service to fellow member businesses, and/or take advantage of other members’ discounts. Participation in the Member to Member Discount Program is a benefit of membership.

The Chamber receives dozens of calls each day from individuals looking for specific goods and services. The Chamber refers business members first.  Chamber members are also listed in the Chamber’s online business directory which includes a search engine allowing users to find the businesses they are looking for. The Business Directory is accessed by nearly 70,000 guests each year. 

Chamber members can market directly to fellow members by requesting the Chamber’s mailing list.  A digital spreadsheet is offered as a complimentary benefit of membership.  Additional fees are required for mailing labels.  Note:  The Chamber never shares e-mail addresses of members.   

The Chamber’s weekly Business Spotlight series features Campbell County businesses. Learn about the many products and services available locally.

On top of providing alphabetical and categorical member business listings, the online Membership Resource Guide is a comprehensive look at the resources and services available to your business as a Chamber member. Member businesses have the opportunity to advertise in the Membership Resource Guide.

A twice monthly email is sent to members listing important news and information pertaining to the Campbell County business climate. 

Business “After-Hours” Mixers are a way for members to showcase their company to area business professionals and guests in a relaxed setting. Those attending Mixers enjoy networking across a wide range of business and community members.

The monthly ChamberPAK mailer is a cost effective way for Chamber members to advertise their business to nearly 800 individuals in the community. Members have the opportunity to distribute a brochure, extend a discount or coupon offer, promote a new business service, or advertise a special promotion or event. 

Member businesses get additional exposure through events like Business “After-Hours” Mixers and special events. Active committee participation also increases your exposure and helps you network with other businesses. Member businesses are eligible to participate in a variety of events for businesses both big and small as well as promote their business through the Chamber’s electronic newsletter and website.

The Chamber is active in maintaining a positive climate for business. The Chamber advocates for the continued use of the Optional One Percent Sales Tax for community development in the form of street improvements, park development, and tree maintenance. 

The third weekend in March, thousands of people stroll the aisles at the Northeast Wyoming Contractor’s Association Home Show, providing participants’ maximum exposure for their products and services. The event features more than 150 vendors. 

Up-to-date, current information is available on business statistics, community demographics, upcoming community events, and products and services available in the community. The Chamber offers an online community calendar, a local organizations directory, and more.

The third weekend in March, thousands of people stroll the aisles at the Northeast Wyoming Contractor’s Association Home Show, providing participants’ maximum exposure for their products and services. The event features more than 150 vendors. 

Each year the Chamber hosts luncheons, seminars and workshops which cover topics like marketing, customer service, legal issues for business, building strategic alliances, and regulatory issues. These seminars provide affordable, updated information on issues which affect business.  Sponsorship opportunities are available. 

The Chamber’s Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies offer a festive way to celebrate grand opening events, anniversary events, new product lines, or expansions. These celebrations bring new, prospective customers to your business.

The Chamber offers a multitude of marketing opportunities for business members. Partnering with the Chamber provides an opportunity to introduce people to your business and support Chamber programs.

The Gillette Area Leadership Institute, offered by the Chamber for more than 25 years, provides leadership training for those wanting to learn more about active engagement in the community.  The nine-month program is designed to promote a better understanding of the community, build and enhance leadership skills, and develop a strong network of community leaders. 

The Wyoming Chambers Health Benefit Plan provides members with comprehensive health, dental and life insurance coverage options designed for small to mid-sized employers. Employers must be a Chamber member for at least 60 days before eligible for the Chamber benefit plan, and must remain a member in good standing to continue to participate.

Annually, the Chamber helps keep more than $350,000 in the local economy via the Gold Gift Certificate program. The Chamber initiated the program to promote local products and services as well as provide a means for reducing retail leakage to surrounding communities.
