Today is the last day for a 2nd reading on bills in the legislature. Tomorrow will be the last day for 3rd readings. The session will adjourn Thursday, March 12th.

As of today, there are 393 proposed bills. Only 155 remain active.

The Wyoming Taxpayers Association is still monitoring HB0159 – Monthly payment of ad valorem tax on mineral production. WTA testified in opposition urging the revenue committee to slow down, kick the complicated topic to interim, and allow time for WTA membership feedback. The new version stretches monthly payments, strips incentives, provides for a softer transition and includes a review following the 2026 tax year. The third reading will be heard today in the Senate and WTA will continue to monitor closely if it makes it to Joint Conference Committee. Moving forward, interim discussion around monthly ad valorem payments will be heard in Joint Minerals, Business Economic Development Committee. The WTA is also still tracking HB0171 – Wyoming gaming commission. The proposed bill will create gaming regulation, licensure and taxation all of which WTA supports. The bill will be heard for third reading in the Senate today. WTA will continue to closely monitor all tracked bills as they finish in Joint Conference Committee and pass on to the Governor’s desk for signature.
