Worlds Largest Pathfinder Youth Gathering to Relocate to Gillette in 2024

After months of meetings and tours provided by the Campbell County Convention &Visitors Bureau (CCCVB) and the Cam-Plex staff, the International Pathfinder Camporee, the world’s largest Christian gathering for youth has voted to move their55,000+ Pathfinder event to Gillette, Wyoming in 2024.

Pathfinders is similar to a coed girl/boy scout club, ages 10-15, organized by local Seventh-day Adventist Churches. The clubs earn honors (merit badges), learn outdoor skills, enjoy camping, learn Bible knowledge and have fun being involved in community service projects. The International Camporee takes place every five years and represents Pathfinders from over 100 countries. Since 1999, the Camporee has been hosted in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, but in 2024 the Camporee will move to Campbell County, Wyoming.

CCCVB Executive Director Jessica Seders said, “We couldn’t be more thrilled with their decision to move Camporee to Campbell County. This decision is a testament to our community and its ability to not only draw large international events with our world class facilities but our commitment to support one another for the good of our community. ”

“It is an honor to welcome Camporee to Campbell County. Again, our community, facilities, and Western hospitality have attracted an exceptional event. We are excited and proud to host Camporee in 2024 and are eagerly preparing and awaiting their arrival.”, said Cam-Plex Executive Director Jeff Esposito.

“On behalf of Pathfinders from around the world, we are so excited to bring our International Camporee to your amazing community and enjoy your authentic hospitality, quality facilities, and downtown homemade ice cream! Thank you for hosting us!” Ron Whitehead, International Pathfinder Camporee Executive Director.
