|Upcoming Event: America Works – Improving Access to Quality Childcare
As the United States navigates its way back to normalcy, the economy is experiencing a historic worker shortage. The latest data shows that we have 11.3 million job openings in the U.S.—but only 6.5 million unemployed workers. Not only are there more jobs than people, but also many potential workers are facing barriers to re-entering the workforce.
The U.S. Chamber is hosting a series related to our America Works Initiative, aimed at helping businesses through the workforce shortage. Each month, we’ll bring you a discussion with Chamber and external experts on a new topic related to attracting, retaining, and supporting employees to reduce and eliminate the barriers to re-entry and open new doors to workforce solutions.
Please join us on Thursday, April 28 at 2:00 p.m. ET for the first discussion in the series focused on improving access to quality childcare. Quality and affordable childcare is a critical component of early-childhood education and allows parents to work. During this virtual discussion, we will hear from policy and business leaders, and other community stakeholders, highlighting best practices and strategies for successfully improving childcare access.
