Black Hills Urgent Care and Ortho & Spine realized they actually served a wider area, 250 miles around their location in Rapid City, and they began looking for another location a year and a half ago. They settled very quickly on Gillette.
“We’ve had excellent success in the two and half months we’ve been open,” said Kaup. “We bring something different to our clinic visitors, we’re interested in long term care for our clients, while also taking care of your health care needs.”
Depending on how many doctors are on staff day to day, just the orthopedic clinic itself will see 40-70 patients per day. The urgent care center can treat a wide range of issues, and they have begun providing general preventive care as well. Dr. Monica Morman has been an orthopedic surgeon in Gillette for fifteen years, and now is a full time staff member at Black Hills Orthopedic & Spine. Eight other surgeons visit throughout the month, and there are 17 specialists total in the network.
“Starting in March, we’ll have an ears, nose, and throat doctor and other specialists who will come through,” said Kyle Wiese, CEO of the Orthopedic & Spine Center. “Right now we are looking at our options to privilege our doctors so they can perform surgeries in town, but we do have our surgical hospital in Rapid City which is ranked sixth in the nation.”
You can find both care centers in one place, 2201 S. Douglas Highway, or check them out online here and here.
