The Wyoming Legislature’s 2020 session begins next Monday, February 10. The last day for bills to be introduced is Friday, February 14.
Here are some of the bills our Business Advocacy Committee are monitoring:
- HB0059 – Reporting of and relief from firearms disqualification.
- SF0029 – Optometrist practice act amendments.
As noted in our Legislative Principals, we support efforts to create a statewide lodging tax, and the funding for the Wyoming Office of Tourism. The Wyoming Taxpayers Association also supports these initiatives, and awaits a tourism funding bill still being worked on by the Joint Appropriations Committee.
The WTA is also monitoring HB0047 – Local sales and use taxes. It supports HB0063 – Fuel tax., and opposes HB0071 – Wyoming public safety communications system funding.
